Approximately 10 minutes drive from Moshi is located a Chagga market called Kiboriloni. The market is open two days a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are a lot of buyers and sellers on the market, because people come there also from slopes of the mountain. On the market there are sold products from vegetables and fruits to the most common goods and clothing.
People from villages of the mountain slopes bring to the market for sale for example bananas, coffee, beans, avocados, corn and handicrafts. They buy themselves products which are not available in their home villages, such as fish, rice, some spices, soap, clothes and electronics.
Chagga market is definitely worth seeing and experiencing, even if you don´t want to buy anything. On the market you can find fine handicrafts such as wooden utensils and hand weaved baskets. In addition, vegetables and fruits are really fresh, most often picked the same morning.
